The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Vehicle Fans Are Dreaming Of
It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was teaming up with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole place where fans can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. However, whether players will truly desire to use it is another question, as fans have their hearts set on just one Springfield car the community is itching to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most gamers would absolutely enjoy to compete behind the wheel of The Homer—the notoriously impractical car the patriarch built personally in the 1991 installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what players are receiving. Not even receiving the Canyonero, the heavy-duty vehicle featured in season 10. Rather, fans will obtain the Simpsons' standard beat-up sedan, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Even though this particular car has accumulated plenty of miles, it remains an recognizable element of the series. And for players who pay attention to Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the trusty sedan shares the same hitbox as the Dominus.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
And it's not the only customization item from the show arriving in Rocket League. This limited-time event will also include a set of challenges to unlock more rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a official announcement, the challenges will require participants to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are The Simpsons seasons, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and drive a distance worthy of acquiring the perfect donuts!"
While the complete list of challenge rewards isn't yet disclosed, here is what has been confirmed so far:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
If the key art is any indication, it seems fans will also get rims featuring a television showing the show's title sequence, alien antenna toppers, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty's famous restaurant.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
The Rocket League collaboration lines up with the major The Simpsons invasion of Fortnite, which includes a brand-new playable area of the fictional town, in addition to a 30-day Battle Pass. The Rocket League x The Simpsons celebration launches on November 1st and ends on Nov. 17.
